    Creative summer

Finally it’s summer. It’s time to travel or enjoy changing views. At the same time you can look at the world and all kind of design with fresh eyes. Maybe it’s time to compare your company’s visual identity to others. Is it contemporary? How does your logo look like? What kind of identities can you find? Have you noticed something wonderful, that you would like to make for your own company?

A new company needs a logo for starters and some basic elements. At first I think about letters and fonts that would fit and sketch the feeling the company needs. There are thousands of fonts to choose from (see Fontshop.com). Sometimes designing is easy, when the name of the company has nice letters you can play with like turning an a-letter upside down looking like an e-letter. As soon as the typographical feeling is created, I begin to sketch different kind of signs. Often a logo and a sign can be united, but the sign as a separate element is also a symbol for a company. Finally a well-done proper logo presents company’s identity and businessidea. It’s easy to remember and looks professional.

After the logo is designed, it’s time to think about other elements needed. Business cards, envelopes and stationery, brochures and websites are essential for marketing today. I can design a basic package or then a whole package for a corporate visual identity with complete visual graphic manual. The graphic manual defines guidelines for colour usage and typography, design for advertising, brochure layouts, company cars and clothes, flags etc. I can also design a unique pattern to be used on fabrics or another surface.

Summer is the best time to be creative and let brains think about new ideas. You may find those from a wild roller-coaster or a peaceful sauna at the country-side.

I’ll be working almost all summer, but new potaoes, fresh strawberries, ice-cream and swimming are a must. Let’s enjoy summer breeze through our brains and our minds!
